The Collection Auction

To say that the current moment is not favourable to the horse business is an understatement. The sports world is at astandstill, just like the transport sector, not to mention the sanitary rules which are at best vague and at worst strict in the extreme. It is this “complicated” context that prompted two heavyweight teams to combine their talents and their address books to build The Collection. Milestone Farm (Carlos Pinto and his wife, Willemijn Poels) associated with ST Stables (Steve Tinti) have almost 20 years of expertise on one side andfifteen on the other in the field of horse business. Their idea was to bring together the best horses present in their stables to constitute an unusual catalogue composed of sixteen horses(fourteen show jumpers and two hunters) which will be auctioned online for 2 days from May 22nd to 24th. “We had to do something. We couldn’t just sit there and wait for the covid-19 crisis to pass. We had to find a way to offer our best horses to clients who are currently unable to come and meet us.” said Steve Tinti. “The hunters are a very big industry in the United States and Canada. With travel being difficult during these times, we would like to offer a top selection of quality hunters from the comfort of your own home.” specifies Willemijn Poels, specialist in hunters. “We wanted to offer some of the best pedigrees on the market for show jumpers as well, which we have managed to do.”added Carlos Pinto. But, The Collection is not just a simple online auction as we have seen before. “The idea was, in addition to the horses offered in the catalogue, to offer outstanding service and guarantees in order to adapt to the current situation.” said Carlos Pinto. The Collection therefore offer to organise the transport of the horse purchased for you. If the border of your country is currently closed, The Collection offers to take care of the horse at the organizers own cost until the border reopens. For the concept of The Collection to be truly global, it was essential to add a charitable component. “It was one of our first wishes when we thought about this auction. We wanted in one way or another to help children and especially those who are directly or indirectly affected by this pandemic.” explains Steve Tinti. This is why the organizers of The Collection have turned to UNICEF and will pay the international organisation ten euros per bid placed during the online auction. To join The Collection, as a buyer is simple, it just requires prior registration on the website. On the website you can also find all the guidelines and help, to ensure the best possible experience of the first edition of The Collection Auction.
